MERRY CHRISTMAS 2005 from David, Judy and Rosie!!

Hello from Oregon! David and I wish you the very best and happiest of Holidays. And may Peace be in the world! Here are just a few pictures to share with you. December: Immediate Right: Judy, Julie, Michelle, Katie on Christmas Day at our house. What a lovely celebration! Here are even more pictures (and more to be posted):
MORE OCTOBER: Off to celebrate Katie's Grandparents' Day celebration at Tumalo School near Bend, Oregon. Katie loves skateboarding and any other sport you could name!
OCTOBER: Dave and I visited my friends Shirley and Wally on the lower McKenzie River.. Shirley and I taught together for ten years at Tahoe City.
NOVEMBER: We traveled to Los Osos and Morro Bay (CA) to spend a beautiful Thanksgiving with David’s nephew Rabbit and family and David’s daughters Susie and Renee and their children. Rabbit had just finished a beautiful new house overlooking Morro Bay. My daughter Julie was able to join us and she and I and Todd spent the day in Morro Bay and at the Bird Sanctuary. Then David and I went to Santa Barbara where we stayed with David's Susie and Kip and kids and also visited David’s brother Tommy. The weather and the visit couldn’t have been finer. David was happy to see his California family! All the grandkids and nieces and nephews have really grown up and they are so talented!!
SUMMER: Daughter Michelle, and Randy and Katie, in the mountains near Bend. Michelle is finishing her senior year at OSU. Michelle, Randy, Katie, Julie and Todd had a great summer on the High Lakes and on mt. trails....M & R are learning to sail and bought their first sailboat. FALL: Son Blake is still a chef at George Fox University. His team was recently featured in a Catering Magazine. He and Tsheunda live in the Portland area.
DECEMBER: Daughter Julie just finished a Disney pilot and is returning to Bend to her house for the winter. She wants to start a garden art store somewhere!
SUMMER: My brother Jim and his wife Kathy built a beautiful home on the shores of Lake Michigan in the little town of Omena, and they are just preparing for a very wintry
Christmas with their little dog Axel.>>>
SUMMER: We also took several one day road trips all over southern Oregon and Northern California with friends Donn, Karin and Barbara. Some highlights were the white pelicans in the Klamath area, the Victorian coastal towns of Eureka and Ferndale, dining at Patrick's Point, ice cream in McCloud, picnics in the northern California mountains.
ALL YEAR LONG: The garden was a joy this year, as usual. The flowers were rich and colorful and long lasting. The vegetables and fruits were worth every second of care they received. The chile peppers were outrageous. The little fingerling eggplants were delicious. I dried a lot of heirloom tomatoes and peppers. There were so many “stars” in the garden, and we just lavished praise on them. Ah, the golden-orange dahlias, the Satsuma plums, the sweet onions, the garlic. Lucky us!  Click on David below and you will see one of our favorite things to do this summer: take our extra fruit and veggies to the Food Bank.
JULY: David celebrated his 70th birthday with a big backyard party. He had three high school friends, family and local friends come as well as his great-grandchildren Avery and Lailee (below) Another treat for Dave was a raft trip on the Rogue with Scott Cathcart and family. We also had our new woodstove installed, which has been such a blessing this winter!!
MAY: Judy celebrated her 66th on 05-05-05 with some very special friends (and family) who were able to come and stay for a few days. We reserved a tour van and went to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a winery, and the Jacksonville Inn, where we also met up with another friend. The photo is very pixelated. Julie had just given me a new camera for my birthday that day and I hadn't had time to read the instructions! And Michelle gave me her cute little green VW Jetta, which we took to California for Thanksgiving. It was a real girls' party, and I loved every minute of it.
